Location

The location of the Mayflower hotel is extremely favourable. From the station it is a 5-minute walk to the hotel. Due to the location of the hotel you can even be at Schiphol within 40 minutes.

The KEUKENHOF and seaside resorts are also easily accessible from the station. By train you can be in Amsterdam in 40 minutes.

The hotel is surrounded by a number of museums, including the museum of ethnology and the museum of antiquities. You can also visit the mill museum “De Valk”

When you leave the hotel you walk straight into the shopping street. On the right side of the shopping street is the somewhat older centre, with a Roman bridge, a Roman castle and the town hall. Near the town hall you can enjoy one of the many terraces that Leiden has to offer.

Leiden is the oldest university city in the Netherlands. Within a 10-minute walk you can visit the Hortus Botanicus and the academy building of the university.

In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are many catering establishments, including restaurants, cafes, shops.

On Saturdays, the market of Leiden is highly recommended. This is located in the vicinity of the city hall.

On the square in front of the hotel, you can take boat trips through the historic canals of Leiden. You can also rent a sloop yourself in the area.

Leiden is also the city of the many courtyards that you can visit. Leiden also has a walking route called “Het Singelpark”, which is laid out around the city center of Leiden. This route is approximately 6 kilometers.

In short, almost everything is within walking distance.
